Today I worked on my self and design evaluation. I didnt test today because its flat. I hope to test thursday or friday, it looks like its going to be flat tomorrow as well. I never thought it would be such a problem to find bad waves.

Today I worked on getting together my mentor contacts. I dont have enough to get the ten points so I am going to email my mentor the next few days.. I also talked to Mr Alfonse about the due dates for my work.. We agreed to test the board Monday or Tuesday and that my related documents could be handed in on Thursday.

Today I worked on my design evaluation. All the work is due in a week, next Tuesday. I hope I will be able to test by then. Right now the wave forcast is looking kind of big for the rest of the week. I may have to test next Monday.. but that seems to be cutting it close to the due date. I hope my teachers will be understanding and give me more time to write everything up.

Today I set up my document for testing results, although the test hasnt happened yet, I am preparing the document so that I can just fill in the parts I need when I do the test. I plan to do the same thing for design evaluation.

So far this week I have been working on my testing procedure. I gave the finished test to my teachers and also emailed them a copy. Now I am going to begin working on my presentation board for senior project night.

Today I am working on my presentation board for senior project night. I am accumlating everything I have worked on this year and condensing it onto the board.. I am typing everything up in word and printing it into sections for the board.

So far this week I have reviewed and added to my testing procedures. I am looking to test the first week in May. This should give me enough time to do my self evaluation and test results before the due date. The rest of the week I am going to start to plan my presentation board for the senior project exhibit night.

Tomorrow starts spring break. This week so far I worked on my schedule/calendar for the fourth marking period. My plans for when we return are to test my design I am hoping the weather will get nice, although right now its raining and now looking too good. Im sure it will warm up as soon as May comes and I will be able to test.

Yesterday I did my formal progress update presentation for the marking period. I had both my model and final product in school to show the class. It was interesting to see other students projects actually complete..

Thursday we watched presentations in the media center. Today we were supposed to do presentations but our teachers were absent so we watched a harley davidson movie instead.

Today I downloaded construction pictures onto my computer and organized them to see which would be best to put on my weblog.

Construction Due

Today our construction was due. I am 90-95% done with my project. The last step is to fine sand. Everything else is complete. I worked very hard this week to be done by today.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Shaping is complete. While I was shaping the planer got caught and took a chunk out of the tail of the board. I called my mentor to ask what would be best to do.. he suggested getting a new blank or improvising and making it part of my design. My dad gave me the idea to put little wings on the board because time and cost would not allow me to restart the whole process. The wings add to the swallow tail design and wont make a noticable diffrence in the preformance of the board.

I glassed the deck of the board yesterday and I will be glassing the bottom tonight. Hopefully if everything is dry I will be able to sand and install the fins tomorrow and be ready for Fridays due date.

So far this week in class I have been helping other people with their projects because I dont have my board in school. At home I have almost finished shaping and should be on to glassing by Sunday of this weekend.

I am bringing my board home today. I dont have time to finish it in school, seeing as its due in 9 days.

The press release was due yesterday, I worked on this Wednesday and part of Thursday. Although I had most of it written I needed to update it with current construction progress. I handed it in on time and I hope I do well.

I have been working on the bottom of my board. Its a little hard to work because there isnt alot of time. Id prefer to have a few solid hours of work time so I could actually make progress. I have started to shape the bottom of the board.

Today I have been attaching pieces for my stands. Everything has been cut out. The wood is old and it is hard to put screws in without the wood cracking, because of this I have to drill holes for all the screws before I put them in.

I am still working on my shaping stands. They are taking longer than I had expected, we have alot of setting up and cleaning up to do and it takes alot of time out of our work periods.
